Providing Support, Connection, and Information

At Sandusky County Family and Children First Council (FCFC), we believe parents and caregivers are the experts on their children. That’s why we work to support families by helping them build confidence, skills, and connections—so they can navigate challenges and support their children’s growth and success.

Family Allies Network of Support (FANS)

FANS is a quarterly gathering of parents, kinship caregivers, and community partners who come together to:

  • Share information and resources
  • Provide peer support
  • Learn about topics important to families
  • Identify common needs and offer input to improve local services

FANS gives caregivers a space to feel heard, valued, and connected—with a strong focus on making systems more responsive to families.

Wraparound Parent Advocacy

Families enrolled in Wraparound are also offered one-on-one support through a Parent Advocate. Advocates empower, educate, and encourage parents as they navigate complex systems like schools, mental health, court, and child welfare.

Support is:

  • Respectful, flexible, and family-driven
  • Focused on informed decision-making and family choice
  • Centered on building knowledge, confidence, and advocacy skills

Whether through FANS or individual advocacy, our goal is to make sure no family feels alone while raising children with unique needs.
